Book Clubs

3rd Grade - 5th Grade

Book clubs are a fun and exciting way to empower children while reading. They promote growth in reading comprehension skills, critical thinking skills, and social and emotional development. Students are more engaged while reading and held accountable to their reading and thinking work when participating in a book club. This workshop is designed to promote higher-level thinking while reading through read-alouds and student-led book clubs. Students will be grouped by reading level and choose books to read together throughout the duration of sessions. Throughout this workshop, students will improve their ability to grow, share, and defend their ideas through student-led, teacher-supported book club conversations.

Dates: 7/18, 7/25, 8/1, 8/8, 9am to 11am

Cost: $350
