Our Story

Our Story

We are enthusiastic educators with a passion for teaching all children. Throughout our years teaching in the classroom, we've observed that students are most successful when they take ownership of their learning. This empowers them to work hard towards their goals, alongside their parent and teacher.

We created the Empowered Learning Project because we strongly believe a collaborative partnership between the educator, learner, and parent is the most powerful tool in helping a child grow. We are committed to working with you and your child as a team to create a specialized learning plan.

We have training in multiple methods of instruction which provides us with the foundation and tools necessary to develop a targeted approach to teaching during tutoring sessions. It is our goal to provide multi-sensory and differentiated instruction that meets the needs of your child, while empowering them and instilling a love for learning!

Our Process

Our Process

After you contact us, we will begin by scheduling an initial consultation meeting with you. During our meeting we will determine goals for your child and any concerns you may have. We will discuss your child’s strengths, challenges, school experience, and interests. After an initial meeting with you, we will take the time to get to know your child. Together, we will develop kid-friendly goals to motivate and empower your child to take ownership of their learning. We will conduct initial formal and informal assessments to collect data on your child’s academic levels and skills. With this information, we will create a plan to target specific skills and areas of learning during tutoring sessions to help reach the goals established.

Throughout our sessions, we will constantly reflect and revise our plan and goals to match you and your child’s needs and wants. We believe open communication and feedback between the educator, learner, and parent is the key to making a strong partnership where successful learning can take place. We provide feedback that discusses progress made, skills and strategies to practice, and next steps for further success. In addition, we are always happy to schedule a parent consultation meeting in which we can provide more details. During parent consultations we can coach you on best teaching practices to use and offer insight on activities to do at home with your child to help them further their growth.
